Transformational Worship - John 4:23&24; Isaiah 6:3; Colossians 3:16
Transformational Worship
“And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord Who is the Spirit.” 2 Corinthians 3:18
The Objective:
At ACTS Church, we believe that transformational worship is to behold the glory of God, view His incomprehensible worth, and respond to it.
We believe that the worth of God is fully displayed in the life and character of Jesus Christ, His Son - especially as seen through His redemptive work. Because worship is a response to the revelation of God’s character and attributes, the bulk of our corporate singing will be after the message, as we respond to what God has revealed of Himself through His Word. We cannot worship a God that we do not know and value.
We prayerfully and carefully craft each service around the question: “What will please God in our worship?” Because of this belief, the songs that are chosen, the prayers that are prayed, the readings that are selected, are diligently examined for Christ exalting, Biblical accuracy.
Worship is for God; It is a gift to Him. It is not a tool to entertain, cajole, or please mankind. We want to be very careful to foster an atmosphere where genuine worship is taught and modeled. God will not accept worship that is anything other than truthful, both in motive and expression.
Real worshipers:
“worship by the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh”. -Phil 3:2-3
“true worshipers will worship the Father is Spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in Spirit and truth.” – John 4:23-24
“’And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to Myself’”. – John 12:32
“Therefore, let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus, let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.” – Heb 12:28-29
“Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His Name; bring an offering and come before Him! Worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness; tremble before Him, all the earth…” – 1 Chron 16:29-30a
Beyond the Service:
We believe that God intended worship to be a lifestyle that happens in the life of the believer since Christ came to redeem the entirety of the individual. God rescued us that we might declare His glory through every facet of life. In the life of the Christ follower- every moment contains the possibility to hold eternal weight when lived in worship to the King!
We believe that when worship is lived out as a lifestyle, Monday-Saturday, then Sunday morning becomes a corporate celebration, an outpouring of hearts that have already been viewing His worth and responding to it throughout the week.
